Colors of Sicily: yellow
Throughout the year you can enjoy beautiful colors in Sicily, from azure bays, to green hills, covered with vineyards and from yellow wheat fields to red volcanic rocks. In our previous blog post about colors of Sicily, we looked at the color blue. Today, yellow is the theme color:
In the spring, many flowers bloom in Sicily. The yellow flowers in the orchard on the photo below are actually weeds, but several weeks per year they create a gorgeous yellow landscape:
Sicily is dotted with lemon trees, so lemons are not expensive on the island and if you live or stay in the countryside, chances are, the farmer lets you pick them for free. Delicious in tea, on grilled fish or to make your own limoncello…
As soon as it stops raining in Sicily, the grass is getting drier and the color of the Sicilian landscape turns into a beautiful yellow.

In the fall you can enjoy the beautiful fall colors in the various woods on the island, such as in the woods of Mount Etna:
